Our lovely Freshford home may be back on the market in Spring 2026

A Grade II listed Georgian terraced house, built c.1780; five bedrooms; family bathroom with underfloor heating; downstairs loo; and a well-equipped kitchen with oak doors, granite worktops, integrated Whirlpool dishwasher, Bosch fridge and freezer, gas hob with new extractor, and a double oven (half gas, half electric).

There is a new Vaillant combi boiler with gas central heating, and two wood-burning stoves with lined chimneys, one in the dining room and one in the sitting room. Outside is a beautiful cottage garden with two decks and exceptional views. At the front there is a huge double garage/workshop and off-street parking for two cars.

Storage is excellent. As well as the garage and a large attic, all bedrooms have substantial cupboards/wardrobes, with two additional wardrobes in the top Bedroom 1. The house is full of bespoke floating shelves made by Tony, in the living room, dining room, bedrooms 2 and 3, and along the upper stairs.

Freshford has one of the best primary schools in the country, an outstanding pre-school, a community-run village shop (The Archers came here for research), and a railway station a ten-minute walk from the house. Trains take eight minutes to Bath, thirty to Bristol, and two hours door-to-door to Paddington.

The walks are extraordinary; straight out of the front door into an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. All the landscape photos below are walks from the house, no driving required, including the river at the bottom of the hill where I’m paddleboarding and we all swam (a lot). Iford Manor is a twenty-minute walk and has the most amazing pastries, (better than Copenhagen!). The award-winning and beautiful, 16th century Inn at Freshford is a five minute walk down the hill and has just been taken over by Iford, with food to match.

Guide price £750,000 - £800,000
